What is positive reinforcement training?

Positive reinforcement training is a science-based, Fear Free method that focuses on rewarding desired behaviors rather than punishing unwanted ones. Dogs learn faster and build confidence when they associate training with positive outcomes—like treats, praise, or play. This approach strengthens the bond between the dog and owner, reduces fear and anxiety, and encourages dogs to make good choices on their own.

In short, it’s all about teaching dogs what to do, not just what not to do—through patience, consistency, and kindness. I use a combination of classical and operant conditioning to shape behavior and build strong, positive associations that support clear communication and trust.
